Every purchase on Learn Chinese with Lan — every HSK exam pack — comes with a 7-day, no-questions-asked, full refund. The 7 days count from the date of your payment.
You don't need to give a reason. "It's not for me" is enough. The free courses and the free part of each pack let you try before buying, but if you buy and it still isn't right, you shouldn't be stuck paying for it.
Email contact@learnchinesewithlan.com from the email address you used at checkout, with the subject "Refund". Including your Gumroad receipt number speeds things up, but it isn't required — your email address is usually enough to find the order.
I aim to confirm refund requests within 2 business days. There is no phone call, no "are you sure?" flow, and no partial-refund haggling.
Payments on this site are handled by Gumroad, our merchant of record — Gumroad is the company named on your receipt and card statement. When your refund is approved, I issue it through Gumroad, which returns the full amount to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the money typically appears within 5–10 business days. You can also reply to your Gumroad receipt email; refunds requested that way are honored under this same policy.
When a refund is issued, access to the paid course content ends. Everything free — the self-study courses, the Word Tree and the free part of each pack — stays available to you, always.
Outside the 7-day window, payments are generally not refundable. There is nothing to cancel: an exam pack is a single payment and never renews. If something exceptional happened — a duplicate charge, a billing error, a serious technical problem that kept you from using the course — email me and we'll sort it out fairly.
This policy is built on trust, and I intend to keep it that way. The one exception: abuse of the guarantee — for example, repeatedly purchasing and refunding to get ongoing paid access for free, or refunding after bulk-downloading course content. In clear cases of abuse, I reserve the right to decline a refund or refuse future purchases. This exception is for patterns of exploitation, not for ordinary customers changing their minds.
Anything unclear? Email contact@learnchinesewithlan.com — you'll be talking to me, Lan, not a support bot.
